Everyone’s needs and circumstances are different, but weekly sessions are generally recommended to build consistency, momentum and continuity in the work. Frequency can then be adjusted to fortnightly or, later, monthly check-ins as appropriate.

Every person and circumstance is different, so there is no definitive answer. As a rough guide, most clients attend between 4 and 12 sessions, with 8 sessions being the average.
My approach is purposeful and intentional. I’m motivated to help you create meaningful change as efficiently as possible, with the goal of making myself redundant. For most clients, this means working together over weeks or months, rather than years.

Before booking your first counselling session, we’ll start with a 15-minute discovery call to make sure we’re a good fit and that I’m the right person to support you.

Yes. Your intimate discussions are kept confidential, unless there is a safety concern. In such cases, necessary steps will be discussed to help ensure everyone’s safety.
Basic contact details may be stored for administrative purposes. Secure AI-assisted note-taking technology may also be used to help document sessions. This is designed specifically for healthcare providers and operates in accordance with the Privacy Act. It does not retain recordings or use identifying details such as names. Further information and consent are provided as part of the intake process.
