Meet Kelsey

Founder of Scope Therapy and an NZAC-registered counsellor, Kelsey offers both in-person sessions across Nelson & Tasman, as well as online counselling nationwide.

The problem isn’t always the problem. When we experience stress, anxiety, relationship conflict, or a sense of being stuck, they are often signals of something deeper.

At Scope Therapy, we don't believe in surface-level symptom management. Instead, we look beneath the surface to explore the core patterns, beliefs, and experiences shaping how you think, feel, and respond. With greater clarity and self-awareness comes true choice.

Our approach is curious, collaborative, and insight-focused. Rather than a one-size-fits-all model, we integrate a range of evidence-based modalities—including CBT, IFS Parts Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Somatic Therapy, Values-Based approaches, and CliftonStrengths—tailoring the work entirely to you and your goals.

Whether you're navigating anxiety, self-doubt, relationship dynamics, or a major life transition, you don’t have to figure it out alone.

Qualifications & Credentials

TRAINING

As an NZAC-registered counsellor with a Bachelor’s degree in Counselling, with further advanced training in Somatic Therapy, IFS Parts Therapy, and trauma-informed practice. I am also an accredited CliftonStrengths Coach, allowing me to seamlessly blend deep therapeutic work with a powerful strengths-based framework to support your growth.

AREAS OF EXPERTISE

I work across a diverse range of challenges—commonly supporting people through anxiety, stress and burnout, relationship difficulties, self-doubt, and the feeling of being stuck. Whether you are navigating a major life transition or simply feeling disconnected from yourself, we go beyond symptom management to help you untangle underlying patterns, build lasting confidence, and develop a much stronger, clearer sense of self.

PRACTICE

I work with individuals aged 16+ and couples, offering in-person counselling from my Brightwater-based practice for clients across Nelson and Tasman, as well as online counselling throughout New Zealand. I also offer private workplace support and CliftonStrengths training for teams, helping organisations better understand and utilise the strengths of their people.
